ABERFORTH SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST plc

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON 25 FEBRUARY 2003

The  Board of Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust plc ("ASCoT") is pleased
to  announce  that  all the resolutions proposed at the  Annual  General
Meeting  held  on  25  February 2003 were passed by  Shareholders  on  a
unanimous  show  of  hands.  A  total of  28,955,804  proxy  votes  were
received, representing 34.5% of the 83,855,423 Ordinary Shares in issue,
in respect of all six resolutions.
