600 Group PLC 11 October 2002 11 October 2002 THE 600 GROUP PLC RE ORGANISATION OF CRAWFORD COLLETS The 600 Group announced today that it is transferring Crawford Collets' production of collet products from Witney,Oxfordshire to the Pratt Burnerd International site in Halifax. 600 Group currently has two factories making very high precision mechanical components and accessories for the machine tool industry. The intention is to create a centre of excellence on one site in an area where there is a strong engineering heritage. The planned move will cost approximately £0.5m and the combination of both operations will show a significant cost saving and will free up the Group's site at Witney. Crawford Collets currently employs 77 people. Commenting, Tony Sweeten, Group Chief Executive of The 600 Group said: "By transferring production from Witney to Halifax we will have greater economies of scale and will become a stronger player in the high precision mechanical components and accessories market."
