                             DISPOSAL OF PROPERTY


The 600 Group PLC, the international machine tool and engineering company, today
announces that on 28 March 2003 it entered into an agreement with Comparo
Limited and Greyfort Properties Limited to dispose of the freehold of Tower Hill
Works, Witney, Oxfordshire, for a consideration of £2.8 million to be satisfied
in cash.



The site was vacated following the reorganisation of the Group announced on 11
October 2002 whereby the Group's Crawford Collets business was transferred to
the Pratt Burnerd International site in Halifax, creating a single centre of
excellence on one engineering site.



The sale will result in a profit on disposal of approximately £1.8 million.  It
is anticipated that completion will take place on 26 September 2003.
