BOARD CHANGE
The 600 Group PLC announces that Tony Sweeten will be retiring as Group Chief
Executive in September this year. Mr Sweeten, who has been with the Group for
over 30 years and has served seven years as Chief Executive, will remain on the
Board as a non-executive director. Mr Edward Ahmad will join the Company as
Group Managing Director on 1 February 2003 and will take over as Group Chief
Executive on Mr Sweeten's retirement.
Mr Ahmad, aged 50, has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Bristol University and an MBA from Manchester Business School. His most recent
positions have been as Vice President and Managing Director, Europe, of
Metaldyne Corporation, where he has worked since 1997, and prior to that as
Director and General Manager of Holset Limited. He was previously with
Courtaulds, BICC and TI in a range of senior positions in sales and marketing,
business development and general management.
