On 2 December 1999 Michael Queen, a Director of 3i Group plc (the 'Company'),
exercised rights to acquire 52,603 and 42,817 shares ('Shares') of 50p each in
the Company under The 3i Executive Share Option Plan at exercise prices of
£1.430492 per Share and £1.675719 per Share respectively. Michael Queen
notified the Company of the change in his Share interests on 3 December 1999.
