Appointment of Oliver Stocken as Deputy Company Chairman

3i Group plc announces that Mr Oliver Stocken has been appointed Deputy
Chairman with immediate effect.

Mr Stocken has been a non-executive Director of the Company since 1999. He
succeeds Baroness Hogg who became Chairman on 1 January 2002.
