On 25 March 2008, 3i Group plc (the 'Company') was notified that on 25 March
2008 P E Yea, a Director and person discharging managerial responsibilities,
transferred 18,600 ordinary shares of 73 19/22p each in the Company ('Shares')
into his Personal Pension Plan.   This transfer was effected by means of a sale
of 18,600 Shares held by a nominee on behalf of Mr Yea, at a price of £8.34 per
Share, and a purchase of 18,600 Shares on Mr Yea's behalf by his Personal
Pension Plan, at a price of £8.34 per Share.  The transactions took place on the
London Stock Exchange.
