The meeting of the Committee of the Board of 3i Group plc at which the results
for the year to 31 March 2000 are due to be approved has been convened for the
afternoon of Wednesday 24 May 2000. Details of the results will be released by
notification to the London Stock Exchange before 8.00am on THURSDAY 25 MAY 2000.

Subject to approval by the Committee, it is proposed to post audited accounts
for the year to 31 March 2000 to shareholders on 12 June 2000 and to hold the
Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 12 July 2000.
