For immediate release 16 June 2008 XP Power Limited ("XP") Appointment of non-executive director XP announces the appointment of David Hempleman-Adams as a non-executive director with immediate effect. David (age 51) has a record of achievement in both business and exploration. David is the Chairman of Global Resins Limited, involved in the formulation and manufacture of resin systems for the electrical market. He has been in this market for 24 years. He also serves as a non-executive director of Verridan Plc a company offering consultancy related to training and recruiting. In addition David is a founder and director of Hempleman Investment Company Limited which owns and manages business land and premises, also a director of Cold Climates which offers Adventure Experiences. As well as David's business interests he is a renowned explorer and in 1998 he became the first person to conquer the North and South Geographic and Magnetic Poles and scale the highest mountain in each of the seven continents, including Everest. In 2003, David became the first person to cross the Atlantic Ocean in an open wicker basket gas balloon. David is also involved in charity work notably as a Trustee of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Larry Tracey, Executive Chairman, said: "We are delighted to welcome David to the Board. David owns 18,850 shares in XP which were acquired before his appointment.
