Martin Bradbury and Clive Elphick redeemed 301 and 348 B shares respectively,
held within the Share Incentive Plan at £1.70 per B Share.

Furthermore, United Utilities Group PLC ("the Company") announces that it
received notification on 19 August 2008 that the Trustee, Equiniti Employee
Share Plan Trustees Limited, purchased ordinary shares of 5p each on behalf of
the following directors and persons discharging managerial responsibility on 18
August 2008, to be held in accordance with the rules of the Company's Inland
Revenue approved share incentive plan. The shares were purchased at a price of
713 pence per share.
