Completion of Acquisition & Issue of Equity

                           COMPLETION OF ACQUISITION                           

The Directors are pleased to announce the completion of the Company's
acquisition of 3i Group plc's limited partnership interest in Strategic
Recovery Fund II (the "Acquisition") today.

Applications have been made to the Financial Services Authority for the
7,189,974 new ordinary shares of 10p each in the share capital of SEC issued to
3i Group plc as consideration for the Acquisition to be admitted to the
Official List and to the London Stock Exchange for such shares to be admitted
to trading on its main market and such admissions will become effective at 8.00
a.m. today. The Company's issued share capital now comprises 79,815,974
ordinary shares of 10p each, of which 3,045,500 such shares are held in
treasury.
