28 October, 2005 ROLLS-ROYCE TO POWER ADDITIONAL BOEING 787s FOR AIR NEW ZEALAND Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines will power two more Boeing 787s ordered by Air New Zealand (ANZ), doubling the airline's original order for the new Boeing twinjet. Deliveries of all four aircraft are expected to take place in 2010 and 2011. The Trent 1000 is taking lead position throughout the Boeing 787's development and will power launch customer ANA (All Nippon Airways) into service in 2008. Northwest Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines have also selected the Trent 1000 for their Boeing 787s. Air New Zealand today takes delivery of the first of eight Boeing 777 aircraft, all powered by the Rolls-Royce Trent 800.
