Transaction in Own Shares

                          Purchase of own securities                           

On 7 August 2008, Reckitt Benckiser Group plc acquired from Credit Suisse
Securities (Europe) Limited, 100,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price
of £27.4482 per ordinary share. These shares will be held as treasury shares.

Following the purchase and non-cancellation of these ordinary shares, the
Company has:

 1. 11,807,269 shares held as treasury shares ; and
   
 2. 710,561,243 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares)
