Correction : Holding(s) in Company

The following replaces the Holding in Company announcement released today at
8.18 a.m.

Due to an increase in the Company’s issued ordinary share capital, the
percentage rate should read 12.72% and not 13.65% as previously stated. The
full amended text is attached.

Proteome Sciences plc was advised on the 6 April 2005 that as at that date FMR
Corp. and its direct & indirect subsidiaries and Fidelity International Limited
and its direct and indirect subsidiaries and Mr Edward C. Johnson 3rd (A
principal shareholder of FMR Corp / Fidelity International Limited) have a
notifiable interest in 16,706,699 ordinary shares, representing 12.72% of the
companies increased issued ordinary share capital of 131,369,318 shares.
