following transactions affecting notifiable interests held by the above
Company:

24.10.02    Bought       750,000       Ordinary 5p shares  
                                                           
25.10.02    Bought       444,060       Ordinary 5p shares  

These transactions leave the Trust's holding at 9,296,191 Ordinary 5p shares,

which according to our records, now represents a holding of 6.038% of this

class of capital.

The Shares will be held in the name of HSBC Global Custody Nominees Ltd,
Account Designate EAGLET - 866379.
