The Company has today been informed of the following purchase on behalf of Mr
Richard Crowder, a Director of the Company:

- purchase of 20,000 ordinary 67p shares of the Company at a price of 486.5p on

4 December 2003

As a result of this purchase Mr Richard Crowder, a Director of the Company, is
now interested in 65,000 ordinary 67p shares of the Company (0.30% of the
issued class of capital).
