The Board of New Star Investment Trust plc (the 'Company') announces that
the Extraordinary General Meeting convened for 3rd July 2002 has been
adjourned until 11.00 a.m. on 12th July 2002 pending discussions between
Jupiter, Mr Duffield and the Company in the hope of agreeing the terms of a
reconstruction of the Company
