MONTANARO UK SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

The Company announces that today for personal reasons Mr Laurie Petar resigned
as a Director of the Company.

The Board has agreed to appoint Mr Roger Cuming as its Senior Independent
Director when Mr Christopher Jones retires at the forthcoming AGM in July. He
will also chair the Nomination, Management Engagement and Remuneration
Committees.
