Montanaro UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("the Company")

On 26 March 2009, the Board announced its intention to appoint Mr Roger Cuming
as a Director of the Company at the Board meeting to be held on 5 June 2009.

Mr Cuming is currently a director of Close Enhanced Commodities Fund.

There are no other details required to be disclosed pursuant to LR 9.6.13 of
the UKLA Listing Rules.
