Correction : Transaction in Own Shares

The Company announces that the announcement titled Net Asset Value(s) released
under reference PRNUK-0907081711-AA71 at 5:12pm on 09/07/08 was released under
the incorrect heading due to an administrative error.

The headline should have been Transaction in Own Shares.

All other information contained in the announcement was correct.



MONTANARO UK SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

The Company announces that on 9 July 2008 it purchased 30,000 Ordinary 10p
shares in the market at a price of 215 pence per share. The shares so purchased
will be cancelled.

The number of Ordinary 10p shares in issue will now be 35,389,458. This figure
is inclusive of the 1,828,000 Ordinary shares held in treasury.
