          Posting of EGM Circular and Compulsory Acquisition notices           

The Boards of Manchester & London Investment Trust PLC ("MLIT") and its
subsidiary Osprey Smaller Companies Income Fund Limited ("Osprey") announce
that the Compulsory Acquisition notices were posted to Osprey shareholders
yesterday.

Copies of a Circular containing notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting were
posted to Osprey shareholders yesterday and have been delivered to and are
available for inspection at the Document Viewing Facility of the FSA at:
