Appointment of LICL Head of Underwriting

LANCASHIRE HOLDINGS LIMITED 21 September 2010 Hamilton, Bermuda Lancashire Insurance Company Limited appoints Simon Fascione as Head of Underwriting Lancashire Insurance Company Limited ("Lancashire Bermuda"), the Bermuda operating subsidiary of Lancashire Holdings Limited ("Lancashire" or the "Company"), is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Fascione to the position of Head of Underwriting reporting to Charles Mathias the Chief Underwriting Officer. The title recognizes Simon's wide-ranging responsibilities on both the inwards and outwards portfolios and his leading role in both. Simon joined Lancashire in October 2006, having previously worked at Brit Insurance as a reinsurance treaty underwriter. He has broad underwriting responsibilities but focuses particularly on the property account with an emphasis on excess of loss and retrocessional catastrophic loss protections. Simon also handles Lancashire Bermuda's Gulf of Mexico Energy account and participates on the structuring and placement of Lancashire Bermuda's outwards reinsurance programme.
