HEADLINE: Appointment of a New Director


The Board of Invesco Perpetual UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc (`the
Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Lewis as a
Non-Executive Director of the Company, with effect from 17 December 2013.

Jane is an investment trust specialist who, until August of this year, was
Director of Corporate Finance and Broking at Winterflood Investment Trusts.
Prior to this she worked at Henderson Global Investors and Gartmore Investment
Management Limited in investment trust business development and at West LB
Panmure as an investment trust broker. Jane has a BA and LLB and also holds the
Securities Institute Diploma and the Investment Management Certificate.

The Board believes that Jane's broad investment trust knowledge and experience
will prove to be a great asset to the Company and would like to take this
opportunity to welcome her to the Board.

Miss Lewis does not currently hold any of the Company's ordinary shares.

There is no information to be disclosed in respect of 9.6.13R of the Financial
Conduct Authority's Listing Rules.
