Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc (the `Company') announces that, Ian
Barby, the Company's Chairman, is a Non-Executive Director of Madagascar Oil
Limited. The common shares of Madagascar Oil Limited were admitted to trading
on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange on 29 November 2010.
