HEADLINE: Change of Chairman

Following the new Listing Rules, Mr Robin Baillie who is a Director of another
investment trust managed by INVESCO Asset Management Limited, has had to step
down as Chairman of the Company.

The Board of INVESCO Asia Trust plc is pleased to announce that Mr David Hinde
has been appointed Chairman of the Company with effect from 31 March 2005.

The Board would like to thank Mr Baillie warmly for his leadership during his
term in office.
