Appointment

The Board of HSBC Infrastructure Company Limited (the "Company") is delighted
to announce the appointment of Tony Roper by the Company's investment adviser,
HSBC Specialist Fund Management Limited ("HSFML"). Tony has worked for John
Laing plc for the past 12 years, latterly as Director, Portfolio Management and
brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of PFI, PPP and other
infrastructure investment activity. Tony will be dedicated to managing the
HSFML team advising the Company, and will report to Gareth Craig, Head of
Infrastructure at HSFML.

HSBC Infrastructure Company Limited

The Company is the first infrastructure investment company to be listed on the
London Stock Exchange, and is seeking to deliver long-term sustainable
dividends at levels that exceed current UK and other European government bond
yields, by investing in infrastructure projects.

Following the listing on the London Stock Exchange, the initial portfolio of 15
projects has been acquired by the Company and further investment opportunities
are being sought.

The investment adviser to the Company is HSBC Specialist Fund Management
Limited, whose infrastructure investment team has successfully invested in
infrastructure projects since 1997.

Tony Roper

Tony trained as a structural engineer and is a qualified accountant. For the
past 12 years he worked for John Laing plc and helped transform the company
from a construction and house-building business to a specialist infrastructure
developer.

Tony has worked on infrastructure projects in the UK, Europe, North America and
Australia. He has expertise in structuring projects as well as acquisitions,
financings and disposals of investments.
