The Board of HgCapital Trust plc (the "Company") announces the publication of a
circular to Shareholders convening a general meeting to be held on 14 January
2009. Shareholder approval is being sought to implement proposed changes to the
terms of the management arrangements with the Company's manager, HgCapital, and
to amend the Company's continuation vote arrangements.

Copies of the above document have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority
