TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc
advises that on 9 January 2008 it transferred 69,944 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury
to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc 1995 Long Term Co-Investment Plan'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 53,368,667 Ordinary Shares in Treasury.
The number of shares in issue is 1,410,727,899 (excluding treasury shares).
