                      FINSBURY GROWTH & INCOME TRUST PLC                       

                            First Interim Dividend                             

The Board has declared a first interim dividend of 4.6p per share (first
interim dividend 2011: 4.4p per share) in respect of the year ending 30
September 2012. Such dividend will be paid on 4 May 2012 to shareholders on the
register on 30 March 2012. The associated ex-dividend date is 28 March 2012.
