                      FINSBURY GROWTH & INCOME TRUST PLC                       

                            First Interim Dividend                             

The Board has declared a first interim dividend of 4.4p per share (first
interim dividend 2010: 4.4p per share) in respect of the year ending 30
September 2011. Such dividend will be paid on 6 May 2011 to shareholders on the
register on 1 April 2011. The associated ex-dividend date is 30 March 2011.
