CORRECTION - Issue of Equity

The issuer advises that the following replaces the issue of equity announcement
released today at 16:49 under RNS number PRNUK-0307. The number of shares
allotted should have read 2,556 shares and not 3,093 as previously announced.
This means that the total number of ordinary 25p shares now in issue is
41,015,509 and not 41,016,046 as previously announced. All other details remain
unchanged. The full amended text appears below.

Fidelity Special Values PLC announces that on 3 July 2002 the Company allotted
2,556 ordinary 25p shares at a price of 293 pence per share (which represents a
premium in excess of 2% over the latest net asset value). This was in respect
of shares purchased through the Fidelity Share Plan. The new shares will rank
pari passu with existing ordinary 25p shares.

The total number of ordinary 25p shares now in issue is 41,015,509.
