The Board of Fidelity China Special Situations PLC is pleased to announce that
Mrs. Elisabeth Scott was appointed as a non-executive Director of the Company
with effect from 1 November 2011.

Mrs Scott worked in the asset management industry in Hong Kong from 1992 to
2008, where she was managing director and country head of Schroder Investment
Management (Hong Kong) Limited from 2005 to 2008 and chair of the Hong Kong
Investment Funds Association from 2005 to 2007. Mrs Scott is also a
non-executive director of Pacific Horizons Investment Trust PLC.

It is confirmed that there is no further information to be disclosed under
Listing Rule 9.6.13 R (2) to (6).
