HEADLINE: Declaration of second interim dividend

The Directors of The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc announce that they have
declared a second interim dividend for the year ended 31 March 2011 of 4.75
pence per ordinary share, payable on 18 February 2011 to Ordinary Shareholders
on the register on 4 February 2011. The shares will be quoted ex-dividend on 2
February 2011.

The first interim dividend of 4.75 pence per share and special dividend of 0.93
pence per share representing the repayment of VAT, was paid on 30 November 2010
to shareholders on the Company's register on 19 November 2010 (ex dividend date
being 17 November 2010).
