Director Shareholding

The Board has been notified today that the Managing Director of Lawrence plc,
Mr Michael Brent, has acquired 150,000 Lawrence ordinary shares at a price of
60 pence per share as a result of the exercise of options granted to him on 16
October1995. As a result of the exercise of these options Mr Brent holds
210,000 Lawrence shares.

Accordingly, application has been made for 150,000 new ordinary shares to be
admitted to trading on the Alternative Investment Market on Thursday 4
September 2003.

Following this, the number of shares in issue will be 26,459,952.
