MERGER RESULT AND APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR

MERGER RESULT

The Board of The Diverse Income Trust plc is pleased to confirm that, at a
general meeting of Miton Income Opportunities Trust plc ("MIOT") held on
Monday, 30 September 2013, the special resolution to place MIOT into
liquidation and appoint MIOT's liquidators was duly passed.

The Company will now acquire substantially all of the investments, cash and
other assets of MIOT (other than those appropriated to the Liquidation Fund)
and the consideration for the acquisition will be satisfied by the issue by the
Company of New Ordinary Shares to Qualifying MIOT Shareholders.

The Company has made an application to admit 115,684,143 New Ordinary Shares to
the Official List of the UK Listing Authority, and to trading on the London
Stock Exchange, with effect from 8.00 am on 1 October 2013.

Share certificates in respect of the New Ordinary Shares are expected to be
despatched in the week commencing 7 October 2013.

The enlarged number of Ordinary Shares in issue will be 324,377,450.

APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Bartlam as an
independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 October
2013. Tom Bartlam was previously the chairman of MIOT. He was formerly a
founder and managing director of Intermediate Capital Group plc, a leading
independent mezzanine provider and investor in Europe, prior to which he was a
director of Charterhouse Bank where he was involved in their corporate finance
and private equity activities. He is a chartered accountant with more than 
30 years' experience in the investment and financial services industry. He is
currently non-executive chairman of Pantheon International Participations plc
and Polar Capital Holdings plc and is a non-executive director of Numis
Corporation plc and Jupiter Primadona Growth Trust plc. He was formerly a
non-executive director of F&C UK Select Trust plc.

There are no details or disclosures required under LR 9.6.13R (2-6) of the
Financial Conduct Authority Listing Rules.
