RE:      Paragraph 9.6.11 of the Listing Rules                             

Diageo plc (the "Company") announces that Lord Hollick and Paul Walker will
retire as directors of the Company at the forthcoming annual general meeting
(`AGM'), due to be held on 19 October 2011, each having served greater than
nine years as a director. Lord Davies will succeed Lord Hollick as the senior
non-executive director with effect from the end of the AGM.
