            US COUNTERMEASURES DIVISION SECURES $7 MILLION CONTRACT            

         FOR US DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE URGENT OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS          

Chemring Group PLC ('Chemring') is pleased to announce that its US
countermeasures business, Alloy Surfaces Company, Inc. ('Alloy Surfaces') based
in Philadelphia, has recently secured a further $7 million order from the US
Department of Defense for the supply of its unique, special material decoys.
The decoys will be utilised on helicopters and transport aircraft engaged in
operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Deliveries under the contract will commence
this calendar year.

achievements at Alloy Surfaces, and this contract award reflects the growing
service requirement for its special material decoys. It will result in a
substantial increase in Alloy Surfaces' production rates throughout 2006.'
