SMALL COMPANIES DIVIDEND TRUST PLC

The Company has been advised that Mr William van Heesewijk, a Director of the
Company, purchased on 18 June 2007, 41 ordinary shares at a price of 238p each.
The shares were purchased pursuant to a regular monthly standing order through
the Chelverton Savings Plan.

As a result of dividend reinvestment he also purchased 3 ordinary shares at a
price of 233p each on 29 June 2007.

Mr van Heesewijk is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 18,942
ordinary shares, representing 0.12% of the issued share capital.
