This Directors total holding in the Ordinary shares of the Company is 24,077,
not 19,077 as previously disclosed.



SMALL COMPANIES DIVIDEND TRUST PLC

The Company has been advised that Mr William van Heesewijk, a Director of the
Company, purchased on 17 September 2007, 46 ordinary shares at a price of
212.50p each. The shares were purchased pursuant to a regular monthly standing
order through the Chelverton Savings Plan.

Mr van Heesewijk is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 24,077
ordinary shares, representing 0.15% of the issued share capital.
