Transaction in Own Shares

CHELVERTON GROWTH TRUST PLC

The Company announces that on 16 January 2008 it purchased 10,200 Ordinary 1p
shares for cancellation at a price of 42.00p per share, pursuant to the
authority granted at its Annual General Meeting held on 20 December 2007.

The number of Ordinary shares now in issue is 14,864,827.

The total voting rights figure is also 14,864,827.
