Strategic partner to CLCH NHS Trust

12 May 2015 Capita to become strategic partner to Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust Capita plc (`Capita') announced today that it has been selected as preferred bidder to form a strategic partnership to deliver corporate services for Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH). The contract is expected to be worth £80m over ten years to Capita whilst delivering significant budget savings to CLCH. CLCH is the largest community healthcare services provider in London, with over 3,000 staff supporting a population of more than 1 million people across Barnet, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster and beyond. CLCH is one of only two NHS Trusts in London, and one of only 18 across England, which exclusively delivers out-of-hospital, community-based NHS healthcare services. Capita will manage and deliver a range of core support services on behalf of the Trust, including ICT, HR (payroll and recruitment), estates and facilities management followed by the planned delivery of finance services. The partnership will enable CLCH staff to benefit from innovation in technology and process and operational management, helping to improve the quality of the corporate services for all CLCH staff at a lower cost. Capita will also bring additional business development and change capability to help support the Trust's service transformation and growth plans. Andy Parker, Chief Executive, Capita, said: "This contract is testament to Capita's experience in supporting the health sector and wider public sector and highlights the depth and breadth of our services and expertise as a strategic partner. Capita has more than 25 years' experience of working with the NHS and healthcare organisations, including 95% of NHS trusts, and we have shown our commitment to enhancing efficiency and transforming services that support professionals to deliver for their patients. "The NHS continues to face significant challenges in delivering services more effectively and more efficiently, while still improving patient care. This partnership will help support these ambitions by providing insight driven simplified, streamlined and cost effective corporate services to CLCH." James Reilly, Chief Executive of CLCH added: "The strategic partnership will help us to protect investment in frontline services; delivering effective and efficient corporate services that allow our clinical teams to focus on providing the best possible patient care. The partnership will also help us grow as an organisation; developing new services and improving existing ones to better meet the need of both patients and commissioners. It will be a key part of helping us deliver the savings needed in 2015/16 and beyond." -Ends- For further information: Capita plc Tel: 020 7654 2219 Shona Nichols, Corporate Communications Director Andrew Ripper, Head of Investor Relations Media enquiries only: Capita press office Annabelle Chalker/Kirsty Sewter Tel: 020 7654 2399 Email: Annabelle.Chalker@capita.co.uk/Kirsty.Sewter@capita.co.uk Twitter: @CapitaPress Notes to editors Capita plc is the UK's leading provider of customer management, administration and integrated professional support service solutions, helping public and private sector organisations to thrive.
