L&G stake now at 6.98%

Legal & General Investment Management Limited notified the Company after close
of business on 14 September 2006 that it now holds 22,462,794 shares of
Bodycote International plc representing 6.98% of Bodycote's issued share
capital (previously 7.01% on 22 May 2006).
