BlackRock World Mining Trust plc

The Board of BlackRock World Mining Trust plc (the ‘Company’) regret to announce that Mr Anthony Lea has today retired as Chairman as a result of ill health. As earlier announced, Mr Lea had previously intended to retire at the Annual General Meeting.

Mr Ian Cockerill has been appointed as Mr Lea's successor as Chairman of the Company. He has served as a Director since November 2013 and has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry, notably as chief executive of Gold Fields and Anglo Coal between 1999 and 2009.

Mr Lea has been Chairman since March 2006 and the Board would like to express its strong appreciation for all his efforts on behalf of the Company during his Chairmanship and wish him well for his retirement.
