Redenomination of convertible bonds 2015

REDENOMINATION OF BONDS                            

                 BLACKROCK LATIN AMERICAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC                 

    to the holders of the outstanding US$80,000,000 3.5 per cent. unsecured    
                          convertible bonds due 2015                           

Following the Bondholders' meeting on 11 May 2010, the Bond's denominations will
be changed in the CREST trading system from $100,000 to $1,000 with effect from
the start of trading on 13 May 2010.
