Block Listing

BlackRock Latin American Investment Trust plc

An application has been made to the London Stock Exchange and the UK Listing
Authority for a block listing of 10,000,000 ordinary shares of 10 cents each
pursuant to the General Corporate Purposes Scheme.  

These shares will, inter alia, be allotted in accordance with the conversion rights 
of the Company's 3.5% Unsecured Convertible Bonds due 2015.

These shares will, when issued, rank pari passu with the existing ordinary
shares.
