Transaction in Own Shares

The purchase price paid for the 5,000 ordinary shares of 10p each was at a
price of £6.18 and not at £5.235 per ordinary share as previously stated in the
announcement made on the 27 August 2009. All of the other details were correct
and remain unchanged.



Transaction in Own Shares

Baring Emerging Europe PLC announces that on 27 August 2009 it purchased 5,000
of its own ordinary shares of 10p each at a price of £6.18 per ordinary share.
These shares will be cancelled.

Following the transaction, the Company's issued ordinary share capital is
36,768,185 (excluding treasury shares) and 40,086,392 (including treasury
shares) ordinary shares of 10p each. The total number of treasury shares held
by the Company is 3,318,207.
