Ashtead Group plc announces that it has today been advised that as at 15 April
2008 Standard Life Investments Ltd were directly interested in a total of
29,132,515 shares (or 5.46% of its share capital) and indirectly interested in
34,323,441 shares (or 6.43% of its share capital).
