BlackRock Income Strategies Trust plc (formerly British Assets Trust plc)

The Board of BlackRock Income Strategies Trust plc announces the following with
effect from 27 February 2015:-

BlackRock Fund Managers Limited has been appointed as the Company's Alternative
Investment Funds Manager in place of F&C Investment Business Limited.

BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited has been appointed as Company
Secretary in place of F&C Investment Business Limited.

BNY Mellon Trust & Depositary (UK) Limited has been appointed as the Company's
depositary in place of J.P. Morgan Europe Limited.

The registered office of the Company has been changed to Exchange Place One, 
1 Semple Street Edinburgh EH3 8BL (previously 80 George Street, Edinburgh 
EH2 3BU).

In line with the Company's change of name which was announced on 
26 February 2015, the Company's TIDM has changed to BIST (previously BSET).
