First Interim Dividend

The Board of Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust plc today announced a first
interim dividend of 7.35p per ordinary share in respect of the year ending 31
December 2013, payable on 22 August 2013 to shareholders on the register at the
close of business on 2 August 2013. The ex-dividend date is 31 July 2013.
