APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Young & Co.'s Brewery, P.L.C. announces that Mr Patrick Dardis, 44,
has been appointed to the board as Retail Director with effect from 17
July 2003. Mr Dardis joined Young's in 2002 to take charge of Managed
Houses.

His previous positions included Director of Retail Operations at
Wolverhampton & Dudley PLC, with responsibility for 650 outlets,
business development with Guinness Brewing and retail management with
Whitbread PLC and Courage Limited.

There are no other details to disclose under paragraph 6.F.2 (b-g) of
